Recenzie "Keeping the Moon" - Sarah Dessen

Synopsis:
   Collie Sparks are un complex de când de știe: greutatea peste măsură, specifică membrilor familiei sale. Chiar dacă reușește să slăbească cu ajutorul mamei sale Kiki Sparks, care a devenit o celebritate în domeniul fitnessului, nu poate trece peste jignirile primite și este la fel de retrasă ca întotdeauna. 
   Fiind nevoită să petreacă întreaga vară într-un orășel mic numit Colby cu mătușa sa artistă din cauza numeroaselor turnee ale mamei sale, Collie se așteaptă să nu găsească nimic plăcut de făcut cu timpul său liber. Odată cu noile sale cunoștințe Norman, Morgan și Isabel va învăța să se respecte și să câștige încrederea în sine de care are foarte mare nevoie, iar visele ei devin realitate: o vară banală se va transforma într-una imposibil de uitat.   

Părerea mea:
   Am început această carte din nevoia de a mai citi puțin, în special datorită paginilor nu foarte numeroase (din lipsă de timp). Am descoperit cu această ocazie că Sarah Dessen urmărește aproximativ aceleași tipare în scrierile ei, ceea ce poate fi deranjant, putându-ți da seama de final cu mult înainte. 
   Povestea este drăgută în principal, iar mesajul este cât se poate de util și încurajator pentru cei care nu au curajul să arate lumii adevărata lor valoare și se lasă la voia sorții și a milei celor din jur. Nu pot spune că s-a creat o legătură între mine și personajul principal Collie, deoarece nu avem prea multe în comun, dar am putut înțelege dificultățile prin care a trecut din cauza supraponderabilității și dezavantajele vieții peregrine ce au venit odată cu jobul mamei sale. 
   Ceea ce m-a mai atras a fost coperta într-o oarecare măsură, dar și titlul „Keeping the moon” („Păstrând luna” în lb. română) care face referire la eclipsă, în momentul în care luna este acoperită și copilul mic, care nu cunoaște fenomenul, are impresia că cineva a furat-o de pe cer. Sfârșitul este drăguț și fiecare dintre noi cu siguranță va învăța lecția. 
   Dacă doriți să citiți o carte lejeră și simplă, dar de asemenea plină de pilde și personaje simpatice, „Keeping the Moon” vă va oferi toate acestea.

Synopsis:
   Collie Sparks has a complex since she was little: she is overweight, like almost all the members in her family. Even if she is perfectly thin now (with her mother's help, Kiki Sparks, who became a famous fitness celebrity) she can't get over the hurt and she is the same shy girl who faced those bad attitudes.  
   Because she must spend her entire summer in a small city named Colby, with her artistic aunt since her mom is busy with her turnament around the globe, Collie thinks that she will do nothing interesting with her spare time. Once she meets Norman, Morgan and Isabel she will learn to respect herself and will gain the trust that she need so much. Her dreams come true and an humdrum summer becomes into one that will never be forgotten. 

My opinion:
   I started this book, because I felt the need to read something, but mostly due to the low number of pages (my time is limited). I descovered on this ocasion that Sarah Dessen follows the same patterns in all her writings, thing that can become anoying when we, the readers, can figure out the ending long before the book is finished. 
   The story is nice in general and the message is very useful and helpful to those who don't have the courage to show the world their true value and they let themselves into the hands of fate and the pitty of others. I can't say that after I read the book it was created a bond between myself and the main character Collie, because we have nothing in common, but I could understand the difficulties that she's been through because of her weight and the disadvantages of her life always on the move, thing that came with her mother's job. 
   What I liked the most were the cover and the title. It refers to the eclipse in the moment when the moon is covered and a little child, who does't know what's happening, thinks that someone stole the moon from the sky. The end is sweet and we all learned the lesson.
   If you want an easy reading and simple, but also full of moral and lovely characters, ”Keeping the Moon” is the book that you are looking for.
